UberRUSH scheduled deliveries
Want something shipped? Chances are you’ll have to wait around at home or risk missing a delivery on your doorstep.
Shopify partnered with UberRUSH (now deprecated) which provided scheduled delivery windows. I designed this checkout flow to allow customers to easily schedule a delivery based on their available time.
Dynamic 1-step checkout
Most purchases on Shopify are single-item, yet the current checkout flow requires every customer to go through multiple steps to confirm their cart, shipping, and payment method. This especially adds friction for merchants that have a single-item/small catalog or those who frequently run flash sales.
We decided to build a one-step checkout flow that dynamically anticipates the customer’s preferred digital wallet, such as Apple Pay and PayPal.
Rolling out this feature was tricky since Shopify stores are customized on top of 70+ themes, most of which are created by third party developers. I worked closely with the Themes team to integrate this feature on our free themes, and created a set of UI guidelines for 3P developers.
Despite having no marketing push other than a simple home card, we saw a huge number of merchants adopt the feature. Since our initial rollout we've had 60k+ turn on dynamic checkout, including the ever popular Fashion Nova.
